ELU Hampton Roads I: Intro to The ELU

ELU VA chapter

Has there ever been a time where you feel weighed down, frustrated, exhausted? Do you always know why? Have you ever wanted to talk about it with someone but felt like they wouldn’t understand? This event is perfect for you.

Join a discussion with good girlfriends, great wine, and friendship to share your experience on what impact emotional labor has on your life. The Emotional Labor Union serves as an open forum for discussion and connections, or even just to listen to others who may share some of your experiences. We welcome all ages and orientations that identify as female.

Please bring a friend to join our discussion and take advantage of the special event price: 2 people for the price of 1! Feel free to share your favorite bottle of wine or favorite snack as well.

We will discuss questions such as:

  • What does emotional labor mean to you?
  • When do you feel the most emotional labor in your life?
  • When is the best time to discuss emotional labor to your support system?
  • Does emotional labor affect aspects of your professional and your personal life evenly?

Tickets/membership is required for each event, become a member below or purchase your ticket here.

The Emotional Labor Union is a monthly feminist discussion group that welcomes everyone. This event costs money because we believe in the fair compensation of women's labor. If the cost is prohibitive to you please email We'd like this event to be accessible to everyone.
